I've been doing CG as a hobby for the past 2 years, using mainly Blender, the wonderful Indigo engine for rendering, as well as Photoshop for compositing. This was done using these three apps, although there is comparatively little post-work here since Indigo allowed me to render the image, including the sky, illuminated windows and aperture diffraction pretty much straight out of the box. Post-prod work included motion blur, chromatic aberration, atmospheric scattering and some colour/contrast corrections.

The original image is 3000x1500 pixels and crops from the full-res render can be seen here on the Indigo forum. http.//www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/forum/viewtopic.phpt=4354andnbsp
» Click to Vote, Comment or Enlarge the thumbnail

The gates and ships are 3D with some matte painted details, the rocks are assembled from about 7 or 8 rock photos I took during a recent trip to Big Sur, manipulated and painted over heavily in Photoshop. » Click to Vote, Comment or Enlarge the thumbnail

When I looked at it again, I find it really lacking in a lot of areas. Especially after I've bought and used the Spyder3 Elite Color Calibrator device. The resulting colour is quite off and not as I originally intended. So I revised it again with some extra lighting and tweaking, adding the forgotten 'lens flare' touch and some overall noise effect.

Hope you like it.
» Click to Vote, Comment or Enlarge the thumbnail

The general idea was inspired by my adorable toddler son. Does he get tired of people lifting him up and marveling at how cute he is Or does it get a bit tiring after a while How would we humans feel if someone were to do that to us That was the inspiration, anyhow. Either way, it's always a blast to get to design a new alien race in an interesting setting.
Anathemis, so named for the hatred that people feel for her and her race. Hunted like wild animals by keepers of the myth, a species close to the edge of extinction. Elders would have you believe her and her kind to be mythical, urban legends or none existent....but they live, they roam and they feed.

Completely realised PS CS3 Extended, this image has taken about 15 hrs to create. A lesson in depth and colour manipulation from start to finish.

All c andamp c welcome. » Click to Vote, Comment or Enlarge the thumbnail

This image, I made some time ago when i began as a concept artist at Deadline games. It is not for a particular game just a random image where I wanted to show an environment. It is painted entirely in photoshop and took about 2 days. » Click to Vote, Comment or Enlarge the thumbnail
